Garfagnana is a verdant and beautiful area, full of variety and richness. There are a number of particularly interesting or spectacular places worthy of a visit. Here are a selection.

• Grota del Vento – the deepest cave system open to the public in Europe.
• Orrido di Botri – a spectacular gorge – go prepared to wade knee-deep in icy water! There are two bottlenecks where there is no alternative.
• Monte Giovo – a 2000m peak you can walk to.
• Monte Forato – extraordinary natural arch approx 32 m wide and 25 m high
